Congrats to Arjun, Garri, Muaeen, and Alex for getting our orthogonal replication (OrthoRep) system to continuously and stably mutate genes of interest 100,000-fold more rapidly than the genome in vivo! We evolved a malarial drug target in 90 replicates to understand how resistance develops. We also showed how OrthoRep has surpassed the genomic speed limit for mutation. Check out the preprint!
